See Why Man United Are Begging Man City To Win The FA CUP

Published

on

Manchester United are relying on a favour from rivals, Manchester City, to avoid a difficult summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished sixth in the Premier League and face a Europa League qualifier on July 25, unless City beat Watford in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

The early start to the season would disrupt their preseason schedule that is already in place and includes friendlies in Australia, Singapore, China and Cardiff.

United are set to play Tottenham in Shanghai on July 25, the same day as the potential Europa League second qualifying round first leg.

If City can complete the final leg of their domestic treble, United will enter the Europa League in the group phase.

If not, they will have to play on six consecutive Thursdays – in the second qualifying round, third qualifying round and play-off round — before being entered into the draw for the group stage on August 30.

The first group games will be played on September 19.

The squad are due to report back for Carrington for the start of preseason training on July 1, before flying to Australia on July 7.

Unitedare due to play Perth Glory in Perth on July 13 before a game against Leeds United, also in Perth, on July 17.

From there, they will fly to Singapore to play Inter Milan on July 20, before facing Tottenham in Shanghai on July 25 and AC Milan in Cardiff on August 3.

The new Premier League campaign begins on August 10.

Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling, has admitted being a Manchester United fan.

The England forward, who stars for City these days, said when he was younger, he was firmly a Red.

The 24-year-old Sterling enjoyed another brilliant season for Pep Guardiola’s side scoring 17 goals and adding 10 assists in 34 Premier League games.

But despite playing for City, as well as Liverpool before them, Sterling admitted he grew up a huge supporter of United.

Sterling said he was at the 2007 FA Cup final, which saw Chelsea defeat United at Wembley.

“I was at the final in 2007,” he told the Mirror.

“I shouldn’t really say this — not now, definitely not now! — but when I was young, I was a massive United fan.

“I had an old United kit, from when they won the last FA Cup.”

WOW!! Premier League Players To Get Yellow Cards If They Request For VAR Next Season

Published

on

Premier League players may be shown a yellow card next season if they gesture for a referee to check a decision with VAR, Sky Sports understand.

Referees will be encouraged to show common sense early in the season as players adapt to the new technology, which will be introduced for the first time for all Premier League games.

All managers and Premier League squads will be visited by PGMOL officials over the summer, to warn them about their conduct.

Referees will stress VAR officials will be monitoring the game constantly, so there is no need for players to call for a review.

If a player mimics the outline of a TV screen with their hands, they are likely to be booked, but much will depend on the manner and body language of the player at the time.

However, the new advice does not constitute a new rule – it comes under existing FA laws on dissent, whereby any show of aggression or overt questioning of a referees decision will result in a yellow card.

Former Manchester United and Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, has insisted that he will not be working at Paris Saint-Germain next season as they already have a coach.

Mourinho is ready to return to management and has been linked with PSG.

In an interview with L’Equipe, he was asked about joining two of France’s top clubs.

“It’s impossible [to coach PSG]. You can’t coach a club that’s got a coach! Speak to me about a club where the door is open.

“I don’t have an answer [about Lyon]. I don’t respond to that type of question.

“I’ve a lot of respect for all clubs – those that think of me and those that don’t think of me,” Mourinho said.

Current PSG boss, Thomas Tuchel, is under pressure, after an indifferent domestic campaign and elimination from the Champions League against Manchester United, despite winning the first leg 2-0 away from home.
